Upcoming shows

With the release schedule of “Discontent Farm” is behind me, it’s time to get back to get back to posting about my favorite subject — upcoming live shows!

  1. On Sunday, February 18, cellist Alexander Hersh joins violist Hannah Rose Nicholas at the Galbraith and Paul showroom in Philadelphia for a program that’ll include the premiere of my piece “For Mothers” that Hannah Rose commissioned.
  2. On March 15 and 16, Trio Fadolín returns to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for three sets of live music 6-8:30pm. Free with museum admission. This time we’ll be performing in the Balcony Bar, right above the main entrance.
  3. On March 25, Trio Fadolín performs at the Bruno Walter Auditorium inside the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center in a free concert that will include a very special performance of a piece by the great Ukrainian-Jewish composer Yehiel Goyzman (a.k.a. Alter Chudnover) in my arrangement. Limited free tickets remain (see the schedule page for details).
  4. On April 3rd, Trio Fadolín performs at the Interchurch Concerts Music on Wednesdays program — this will be a short 30-minute performance that you can attend in person or livestream on YouTube.
  5. On May 23rd, Trio Fadolín perfroms at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in support of Alicia Jo Rabins’s project “I Was a Desert – Songs of the Matriarchs”. We will play a short opening set before joining the band and an amazing cast!
  6. Same day, May 23rd, the pianist Inna Faliks performs Ljova’s “Voices” at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, as part of a celebration for her new album “Manuscripts Don’t Burn”. Also on the program are works by Maya Miro Johnson, Veronika Krausas, Mike Garson, Clarice Assad and others.
  7. On June 6, 8 and 21, I’m playing in a series of community concerts in Queens with the new music group Percussia.
  8. On June 7, the North Shore Chamber Music Festival (in Chicago) premieres several of my arrangements from the repertoire of Benny Goodman.
  9. On June 8, the Next Festival of Emerging Artists, conducted by Peter Askim, performs my transcription of Curtis Stewart‘s “Essay No. 1: Leave The People” at Merkin Concert Hall.
  10. On June 16, join Trio Fadolín brings our “Heirlooms” program to Roosevelt Island as part of the fabulous series Roosevelt Island Concerts. Suggested donation $10-25.
  11. On June 16, I play with the ensemble Litvakus at The Eldridge Street Synagogue’s Egg Rolls, Egg Creams, and Empanadas Street Festival.
  12. On June 29, I’m playing in a program of Yiddish Lullabies and Love Songs with my wife, vocalist Inna Barmash and accordionist/pianist Ilya Shneyveys at Barbès, in Park Slope.
