Natalia Lafourcade – Que te vaya bonito Nicolás (with arrangements by Ljova)
I first met Natalia Lafourcade in 2010 when creating arrangements for the Mexican bicentennial with conductor Alondra de la Parra. Here are some of those first arrangements. Since that time, Natalia and I have worked together on many orchestral projects, including twice with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil, and during the pandemic I had the honor of recording strings for her video of “Alfonsína y el mar“.
In these twelve years, Natalia has been a constant source of inspiration, leadership, grace, care, and beauty. Yesterday she debuted her new music at Carnegie Hall, and today released a new album that features, on its last track, a new string arrangement by yours truly, on a song titled “Que te vayo bonito, Nicolás”.
You can hear it below on YouTube or at any other music dispensary of your choice. I am grateful to Natalia for our continued collaborations, and for always being true to her art.
