watch a video of a live performance of “Central Asian Dances”:
Central Asian Dances (2024) Ljova’s father, composer Alexander Zhurbin, was born and spent his childhood in Uzbekistan, graduating from the Tashkent Conservatory with a degree in cello, before moving to St. Petersburg and Moscow to pursue a career as composer. Ljova wanted to explore the folk music native to his father’s birthplace, the flavors and the rhythms of that part of the world. |
