Description

Albert Périlhou (1846-1936) was a French composer, pianist and organist, a student of Saint-Saens — for a more detailed biographical article, please see Wikipedia.  His “Menuet No. 4” originally composed for violin and cello,  was discovered by the cellist of Trio Fadolín, Valeriya Sholokhova, on IMSLP.  It’s dedicated to “Mademoiselle Fonlupt”, who, as best as we can tell, must have been a big heartbreak. Ljova made this arrangement for string trio, expanding it with original counterpoint and democratizing the melody.
