Trio Fadolín
Trio Fadolín returns to the Bruno Walter Auditorium at New York Public Library’s Lincoln Center branch with a new program, “From Near and Far”:
Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara — ancient cities in Uzbekistan along the Silk Road that played a pivotal role in the histories of generations of Jewish families, shielding them from persecution and death. This is true of families of the members of Trio Fadolín, each of whom had a family member find themselves in Uzbekistan as a refugee from their homeland.
This concert will showcase compositions from Uzbekistan and beyond, featuring works by renowned composers Dmitry Yanov-Yanovsky, Alexander Zhurbin, and Ljova, as well as selections by Frederick Block from the Library’s collection of Archives and Manuscripts, as well as arrangements of folk music from Uzbekistan.
