Celebrating Alexander Zhurbin at 80

December 18, 2025 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

Celebrate the music of Ljova’s dad, Alexander Zhurbin, with a concert featuring his chamber music and art songs at the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center (inside the New York Public Library’s Performing Arts branch). This concert will include the New York premieres of Alexander Zhurbin’s Clarinet Quintet, excerpts from the song cycle “Five Cruel Ballades” (with text from Bakhyt Kenzheev), as well as encore performances of his “Three Muses”, “Fine Fantasy for Fadolín” and appearances by clarinettist Sam Sadigursky, violinist Miranda Cuckson, the vocal duo of Niko Klaas and Olya Gella, Trio Fadolín, and Ljova’s mother, Irena Ginzburg, as well as the composer at the piano.

Tickets are free but you do have to register for tickets in advance, as there is limited capacity. In the likely event that tickets are no longer available, a standby line will be formed before the performance.
