New Video: How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? (song by Ljova)
Close friends know that I have a Tom Lehrer side that rarely leaves the house — but this one did. Yesterday I went to pick up my bow from Salchow & Sons, just across 57th street from Carnegie, and the Hall looked so lonely, boarded up… “Patience Patience Patience”, the posters said, instead of announcing upcoming concerts… as I was walking up to Salchow, this song came to me — you can see the original sketch at the end, my phone pointing at my shoes, as usual — always keep your sketches.
I wanted to find a way to celebrate that Carnegie has recently become more accessible, inclusive, and even more entertaining. I hope its doors will open again soon… in the meanwhile, we can sing about it!
Enjoy, be safe, and thank you!
