A few months ago, Ljova recorded as part of a string quartet for a new album by Greek vocalist/composer Magda Giannikou - this is the CD release party. Really fun music, very romantic!
ROMASHKA, the longstanding New York-based Gypsy music band that introduced Ljova & Inna to each other, has been steadily growing in all directions -- we have eight musicians, and seven kids amongst us. Join us for a kid-themed show --
as the JCC website says, "New York's favorite gypsy dance party band is gearing up to play its first-ever multi-generational ROMASHKA JR. family show on the rooftop as part of the Generation R family series.
In addition to its ever-potent fare of gypsy, klezmer, folk and retro music from Russia, Romania, the Balkans and beyond, Romashka will dig into Russian cartoon music, musical games and stories for the youngest Romashka fans. At full blast, Romashka has a violin, viola, accordion, guitar, trumpet, clarinet/saxophone, tuba, and percussion. Pack your dancing shoes. All ages welcome. Bring your friends, parents, grandparents, near and far."

Groups & Soloists Performing Ljova’s Compositions and Arrangements
 Brooklyn Rider has commissioned a new string quartet from Ljova, “Culai”, which they’ve recently recorded for Mercury Classics. The Quartet had previously recorded Ljova’s works on its debut CD “Passport” and has recorded Ljova’s arrangements of Persian music on its collaboration with the Persian kamanche master Kayhan Kalhor, “Silent City”.  Violinist Tim Fain performs Ljova’s Sicilienne composition for violin and piano on his tours and has recorded the composition for his debut Naxos release. |

 A Far Cry,Boston’s proudly unconducted chamber orchestra performed Ljova and Osvaldo Golijov’s arrangement of the Taraf de Haidouks’ tune “Turceasca” in a series of concerts. Here’s one orchestra member’s take on the arrangement and premiere performance: “Tackling Turceasca” |

 Romashka, a NY-based fiddle-brass dance party band performs several of Ljova’s compositions written for the band’s Eastern European dance repertoire. Ljova also plays the viola and famiola in the band. Check out Romashka’s website for more about the band. |
