LJOVA AND KONTRABAND not only gives new meaning to Eastern-European and Gypsy melodies, it also provides it with a unique sultry & spicy hot flavor infused with Latin rhythms, Jazz-inspired improvisations and Classical music. The ensemble features violist, accordion, bass and percussion in collaboration with earthy voice of Lithuanian-born singer Inna Barmash. Ljova's compositions dazzle with intricate textures, odd rhythms and lilting melodies, creating music that is fresh, rhythmic, passionate and timeless.
Their music would make your feet restless for dancing and your hips sway to the beat of each soulful song. Come and experience the beginning of summer with the heart-twisting Russian tangos and tales of lost and new found loves...
